City-wise analysis reveals that, just as in the case of the Super Rich, Mumbai has the highest number of Sheer Rich (Annual household income is from Rs. 1,00,00,000 to Rs. 2,00,00,000 at 2020-21 prices) at 2.41 lakh households which is a little over one-third higher than Delhi’s 1.79 lakh (Table 6). About 10 per cent of all Sheer Rich households are to be found in Mumbai, while 7.3 per cent live in Delhi. Pune is home to a little under 3.2 per cent of the Sheer Rich population followed by Kolkata at under 3 per cent.
