Thanks to its growth, there has been a change in the UT’s income demographics between 2015-16 and 2020-21. The proportion of Destitute households has fallen from 6.4 per cent to 4.8 per cent, and the proportion of Aspirer households has fallen by 7 percentage points. This decline has been absorbed by the growth of the categories of Seekers and Strivers. The share of Seekers, for instance, has gone up from 33 per cent to 38 per cent.
