In-Person
The National Statistical Systems Training Academy (NSSTA), under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), hosted a one-day national webinar in hybrid mode at Khurshid Lal Bhawan, New Delhi. The event, chaired by Dr. Saurabh Garg, Secretary, MoSPI, brought together over 65 statistical officers from across India for a deep dive into best practices in official data collection and field survey methodologies.
Dr. Rajesh Shukla, Director & CEO of People Research on India’s Consumer Economy (PRICE), delivered the keynote address titled “Informing Policy with People's Data: PRICE’s 360° Experiences in Measuring Household Economic and Social Wellbeing.”
Drawing on PRICE’s extensive fieldwork and income surveys, Dr. Shukla shared rich insights on the role of household-level data in informing inclusive and evidence-based policy. He emphasized the importance of capturing the lived realities of people across income classes and geographies, and translating that data into actionable insights for public programs.
The event served as a vital platform for exchanging knowledge on survey design, implementation bottlenecks, and innovations in capturing economic and social wellbeing at the grassroots.
PRICE thanks MoSPI and NSSTA for the opportunity to contribute to this critical dialogue on strengthening India’s statistical systems.
