Fast-growing cities are Surat, Bangalore, Ahmedabad

Density of Near Rich (Annual household income is from Rs. 30,00,000 to Rs. 50,00,000 at 2020-21 prices) in Delhi rose from 3.6 per cent in 2015-16 to 4.1 per cent in 2020-21 For Mumbai, the density rose from 3.4 per cent to 4.0 per cent. As in other income categories, the top-ranked cities in terms of the number of households, are not the top-growth ones. Interestingly, though, most of the top-growth cities remain the same in the top income categories. Surat is the top ranked city with an annual growth of 9.5 per cent between 2015-16 and 2020-21, Bangalore is next with 8.6 per cent, Ahmedabad at 7.2 per cent is a tad lower at third and Hyderabad is fourth with a bit over 7 per cent during this period.
