Profile of consuming classes

It is thus evident that the Middle-Class group is the country’s biggest contributor in terms of income (50 percent), expenditure (48 percent), and savings (52 percent). The Aspirer group is placed at No. 2 when it comes to income (25 percent) and expenditure (32 percent). The share of the Rich population is about 4 percent but contributes 23 percent of household disposable income, 17 percent of expenditure, and a lion’s share in saving (29 percent). The economic well-being of the Destitute is dismal. The share of this category is 13 percent of the total country’s population but accounts for only a 2 percent share in income and 3 percent in expenditure. People in this group hardly save and they borrow to meet their subsistence needs.
