The state is home to 3 per cent of the country’s Destitute, 5 per cent of Aspirer, 7 per cent of Middle Class, and 6 per cent of Rich households. Rich households in the state have grown at 9.2 per cent per annum between 2015- 16 and 2020-21. Nearly 46 per cent of the state’s households is located in the urban areas. The bulk of the Rich (two-third) and one fourth of the Destitute also live in urban areas.
