A higher proportion of Middle Class (43 per cent) and Rich households (61 per cent) in Karnataka are to be found in the metro cities of the state. So, while metro cities in the state have moved up the income ladder, left behind rural and emerging rural are capturing a larger proportion of the Destitute households 23 per cent and 51 per cent, respectively.
